FeedWatch — Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 5, 2026.

FeedWatch ("we", "us") is a Shopify app, operated from feedwatch.fozlabs.com, that monitors the health of a merchant's own Google Merchant Center account and reports problems — account issues, product disapprovals, and sudden drops in active products — in plain language.

Data we access from Shopify

FeedWatch requests only the read_products scope, used to cross-reference your store catalog with what Google sees. We do not access, collect, or store any data about your customers. Merchant data is read-only: FeedWatch never modifies your store.

Google user data we access

When you explicitly connect your Google Merchant Center account, FeedWatch uses the Merchant API scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/content) exclusively for read-only monitoring calls on the account you connected:

• account-level issues and suspensions (accounts.issues.list);
• product statuses and item-level disapprovals (accounts.products.list);
• Google's own human-readable diagnostics for those issues (issueresolution renderaccountissues / renderproductissues);
• aggregate product statuses, to detect sharp drops in active products (aggregateProductStatuses.list);
• API quota limits (accounts.quotas.list).

FeedWatch never creates, modifies, or deletes anything in Merchant Center, and accesses only the account you explicitly connected.

How we use and retain this data

Retrieved status data is stored solely to compute changes between checks and to render reports and alerts to you, the account owner. It is retained only while your Google account remains connected, and is protected in transit (TLS) and at rest.

What we never do

Your Google user data is never sold, never used for advertising or model training, and never shared with third parties.

Deletion

All Google user data we hold — access tokens and retrieved Merchant Center data — is deleted when you disconnect your Google account inside the app, and likewise when you uninstall FeedWatch from your store. You can also request deletion by e-mail at any time.

Limited Use disclosure

FeedWatch's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
